porn_-filtersAMERICAN FORK, Utah – Two fifth graders managed to bypass filters placed on a school computer and access porn sites, which they then showed to at least nine of their classmates.

According to a story on the site of local TV news station, ksl.com, the two 11-year-olds bypassed the computer’s filter by typing a keyword into the browser that wasn’t on the filter’s list of pornographic trigger words.

The children have been suspended from school, and authorities are considering whether to charge the two with a second-degree felony or Class A misdemeanor offense.

According to the article, they are leaning toward the former. “It’s serious for the kids, but you also have to look at the other side of this,” said American Fork police Lt. Darren Falslev. “Some of the kids who were brought over there, at least one of them, I believe, is having some trouble shaking that image from his mind.”
