HOLLYWOOD, CA. – Tough guy Don Johnson has been cast as a porn director in the Adam Sandler and Jack Giarraputo-produced Born to Be a Star, slated for a 2010 release by Sony.

Nick Swardson from Reno 911!, co-scribe with Sandler, stars as a small-town nerd who finds out his homely parents were once famous porn stars, and heads out to Hollywood to follow in their footsteps. Johnson plays a has-been director who discovers Swardson and gives him a break.

Tom Brady helms. Christina Ricci and Stephen Dorff co-star, as Swardson’s girlfriend and porn star Dick Shadow, respectively.
