BROOKLYN, N.Y. – A couple of media-savvy Catholic dioceses in New York City have produced a YouTube video that parodies the ShamWow ads made popular by pitchman Vince Shlomi, who, despite his fame, has not been having the time of his life of late.

Shlomi was arrested in March Miami Beach after getting into a fight with a prostitute who she allegedly bit his tongue. He said he was forced to punch her in the face a few times in order to get his tongue back.

The Smoking Gun, which has been following the hideous tale, posted photos of the aftermath, which included lots of dried blood and expressions of misery from both the hooker and the john.

The YouTube video in question, which features a character named Father Vic, parodies the commercial made famous by Shlomi.

According to a WFTV.com news report, “The ad campaign was launched before Palm Sunday by the dioceses of Brooklyn and Rockville Centre in an effort to increase the number of people who confess during Holy Week. Church officials say they’ve seen an upsurge of followers seeking absolution.”
