NEW YORK – Out.com’s 3rd annual Power 50 list of the most influential gay individuals includes two people who have yet to admit they are homosexual: InterActiveCorp Chairman Barry Diller (oh, comeon!) and conservative blog-meister Matt Drudge.

The New York Intelligencer reports Diller failed to respond to a request about the honor, but Drudge immediately responded to claims that he loves sex with men, Chaka Kahn and “The Young and the Restless“.

“False. False. False,” Drudge told the Intelligencer. “I do not love sex with men. My site is not anti-gay. I present both sides of the anti-choice-life issue. I am not anti-tolerant! Except against big-government freaks. I liked Chaka in the eighties, and have not watched ‘Young and the Restless’ in 20 years. But I do watch ‘Judge Judy!’”

We don’t know what to think. We don’t even really care, except to say that if Drudge is gay and not admitting it, and if he really believes that his site is even-handed in its protrayal of the political and social reality of gay life and culture, then he needs to get some help, fast.

It really is okay to be conservative and gay, unless your ideology confuses your abiliity to tell the truth from convenient fiction. In that case, especially if you are an influential blogger, it is most certainly not okay.
