john-edwards_rielle-hunterNEW YORK – Andrew Young, the former aide to Senator John Edwards, reportedly has inked a deal with St. Martin’s Press for a “tell-all” book that will claim that Edwards, not Young, is the father of Rielle Hunter’s child and that Edwards and Hunter once made a sex tape.

Needless to say, the sex tape claim is garnering all the headlines.

According to Rush & Malloy, “Young says that his belief in Edwards ran so deep that he agreed to take the fall for the candidate, inviting the pregnant Hunter to live with him, his wife, Cheri, and their three children.”

While he was unpacking their belongings, the column continues, “Young (bottom photo, right) discovered a videocassette, according to the book pitch. Hunter had been hired by the Edwards campaign to videotape the candidate’s movements, but this one is said to have shown him taking positions that weren’t on his official platform”

edwards_youngYoung has reportedly been shopping the 20-page proposal for several weeks, and signed a deal last week for an unreported sum.

Despite Young’s insistence last year that he had fathered Frances Quinn Hunter, born in March 2008, rumors began circulating immediately that he was lying in order to protect his employer and friend, who had just completed an unsiccessful run for the presidency.

According to an August 2008 FoxNews.com article, “A former well-placed campaign worker, who had inside knowledge of the relationship with Edwards during the time the videographer worked for the campaign, told FOXNews.com in an email: ‘There was no relationship between her and Andrew Young.'”

Young reportedly went along with the charade out of loyalty and because he was getting paid, but when his relationship with the Edwards’ soured and his integrity began to be questioned by the press, he decided it was time to “set the record straight.”
