porn_on_tvMcALLEN, Texas – Texas cable companies are having a lot of trouble keeping sexually explicit movies off the air. In just the past month, technical snafus at two different stations have resulted in the public being exposed to pornography.

In the first case, in Waco, a PBS station in Waco inturrupted My Music: ‘50s Pop Parade with about five seconds of adult programming on a Sunday evening. Viewers called immediately to complain.

This weekend, Time Warner inadvertently broadcast a hardcore scene featuring a “topless blonde in heavy makeup to homes in the Rio Grande Valley. No one called to complain, perhaps because it happened at 3:15 in the morning.

The Valley Morning Star, a local paper, reported that a mistake occured during a procedure to isolate the carriers adult channels from being broadcast on non-adult channels. Ironically, that is just what happened.

‘In the process, a mistake occurred and pornographic programming was sent to the ESPNU channel instead,” Jon Herrera, a regional spokesman for Time Warner Cable, said. “This is an example of a well-intended action that didn’t get executed properly.

“We certainly do apologize to anybody who saw this,” Herrera added, to no one in particular.
