Sandringham HouseSANDRINGHAM, England – The reputation of the Under Butler to the Silver and Gilt Pantry at Sandringham House has been tarnished by a passion for porn.

Robert Wilson, reportedly “one of the most respected butlers” at the Queen’s country estate in Norfolk, England, was caught watching Internet pornography just moments before he was supposed to serve afternoon tea to Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh.

An unnamed Buckingham Palace source told the Telegraph a sergeant reported Wilson to the Queen’s Palace Steward after discovering the 30-something-year-old butler glued to the screen of his laptop in a separate room 30 yards from the royal couple. Wilson was disciplined by demotion to dining room assistant, in which capacity he will serve cleaning staff and kitchen porters instead of heads of state.

“He was one of [the Queen’s] favourites and was due to get promoted even higher — then this happens,” the source told the Telegraph.

Wilson also was moved to “more modest accommodations at the Royal residence,” according to the Telegraph.

“Instead of sacking him on the spot they gave him the option of taking a huge demotion and pay cut,” the anonymous source told the newspaper. “Before this happened he had a grace-and-favour apartment overlooking the gardens at Buckingham Palace. But he agreed to give that up and live in far more modest accommodation in the Royal mews at the rear of Buck House.

“Before this happened he enjoyed daily contact with the Queen and senior members of the royal family. He has gone from one of the best jobs — and rooms — in the palace to one of the worst.”

The incident followed by days the arrest of a couple caught in flagrante delicto on the lawn outside Windsor Castle. Joy Taylor, 35, and Phil Carden, 30, were arrested about 20 minutes after they began shagging in plain sight; they subsequently were cited for “outraging public decency.”

“The Queen will no doubt feel more than a little bit perturbed by the recent sex stories involving her homes,” the Telegraph’s anonymous palace source said.
