GROVE CITY, Pa. – John Gechter, a 22-year-old molecular biology major who was suspended for one year from a Christian university, Grove City College, after administrators learned that he worked part-time as gay performer Vincent DeSalvo, has told a local paper that he will stop performing once his current contract is up in order to receive his degree from the school.

DeSalvo, who performs for RandyBlue.com, had indicated that he was considering suing the school, saying that what he does on his own time is nobody’s business but his own. He has also acknowledged, however, that in taking employment in the adult entertainment industry he knew he was violating the school’s code of conduct.

According to The Herald, Gechter had indicated that a deal had been struck with the college that would enable him to “voluntarily withdraw from the college and take the two courses at another institution. GCC would then allow him transfer those credits and graduate.”

But the communications director for the school told the paper that no such deal had been struck, and that Gechter’s only recourse was to reapply to the chool. “That re-application, however, would then reinstate the appeal process related to the suspension Mr. Gechter appealed before deciding to withdraw,” the paper reports.

Gechner then clarified his comments, saying that the college had emailed him to say that his graduation would have to be approved by Provost William P. Anderson as part of the appeals process. That approval, he said, would be based on several factors, including ceasing his involvement in gay adult entertainment.

Gechner told the paper that he intended to do just that as soon as his current contract with RandyBlue.com ends.

In related news, a Gawker post titled “Christian College Gay Porn Star Wins International Acclaim” says that all of the recent publicity has thrust DeSalvo onto the world stage, and that initial reviews are very positive for the seemingly carrer-conflicted young man.

‘Now comes word from our tipster, a former American soldier living the gay life abroad in Bulgaria no less, that publicity from the incident has sparked tremendous interest in Gechter,” writes the cajun boy, “prompting he and some of his friends to seek out Gechter’s film work online, and the early reviews are spectacular!”

The tipster described DeSalvo as a formidable “power-bottom,” and augured great things for the young perfomer.

“He is a quite gifted, versatile, and very vocal performer even without a degree from a fundamentalist Christian school. He should do a straight-for-pay adult film with the TITular Miss Kalifornia, Carrie Prejean. She could use a strap-on on him, which could be a powerful, artsy metaphor about the GOP’s approach to civil rights and same-sex marriage for the gays,” said the anonymous former American soldier.
